DescriptionHickley’s Archimedean spring drill. In steel and German silver.
The bulbous ivory end (with a compartment for drills and burs) rested in the palm of the hand. The index and second fingers engaged the concave supports fixed to the shaft; upward and downward pressure rotated the bur (in position).
