On the back of the hand over the index metacarpal bone there are two ulcerated areas raised above the general level of the skin with well defined prominent margins, slightly undermined and surrounding a rough irregular floor. Between and in the middle of the more distal of the two ulcers the skin is hypertrophied and warty. The more proximal ulcer extends laterally to the base of the thumb.
