Kinnier-Wilson's disease is also known as hepatolenticular degeneration. it is a genetic disorder where the liver cannot process copper, leading to copper build up in the body. This occurs first in the liver cells (hepatocytes) leading to scarring which can develop into cirrhosis, as has happened here.
