At thoracotamy the tumour, which was extra-pulmonary, lay in front of the left pulmonary vein and phrenic nerve, and above and anterior to the pericardium. Numerous fibrous adhesions stretched between the tumour and adjacent structures.
After removal of the tumour the post-operative course was uneventful and the patient continued in good health.
Specimen: Half the specimen has been mounted. It is a multiloculated cystic tumourencapsulated and non-infiltrative. to each side the brown material lining the cysts is due to old haemorrhage. Centrally papillary tumour projects into a cystic space/
Micro: the papillary timour is composed of stratified epithelium.
