Cicatricial stenosis is the narrowing of a duct or tube as the result of scar tissue forming.
The gastric mucosa is normal and 4 cm from the gastro-oesophageal junction. The lumen of the oesophagus is reduced to a narrow channel indicated by a glass rod, by a ring of thickened fibrous tissue which replaces the mucosa.
