DescriptionNatural electrical impulses cause the heart to beat. When these impulses are distrubed medical intervention is necessary. A Pacemaker is a name for a device that stimulates the heart. The device consists of a pulse generator which is implated in the chest and one or two pacing leads tipped by electrodes which are inserted into the heart to stimulate the contraction of the heart muscles. The generator creates the electrical pacing signal transmitted to the heart, this is powered by a battery.
These models are rectangular metal pacemakers with hard resin orange top. The are identical aside from theire= serial numbers and that one is much lighter indicating it does not contain a battery. Both devices have the following engraved on the front VENT, Pacesetter Systems Inc, Sylmar, CA USA, Programalith - AV, Programmable Pulse Generator 223 DVI, MO, Unipolar. Only the device containing a battery has a serial number which is S/N 74100
