DescriptionNatural electrical impulses cause the heart to beat. When these impulses are distrubed medical intervention is necessary. A Pacemaker is a name for a device that stimulates the heart. The device consists of a pulse generator which is implated in the chest and one or two pacing leads tipped by electrodes which are inserted into the heart to stimulate the contraction of the heart muscles. The generator creates the electrical pacing signal transmitted to the heart, this is powered by a battery.
These models are small metal pacemakers with resin top. The are identical aside from theire serial numbers. Both devices have the following engraved on the front Siemens Elema Multi-Programmable Pulse Generator 668B, Made in Sweden. Serial nos. S 5268 09140 and the other is S 526809132. The reverse reads: NOT FOR IMPLANTATION, Siemens-Elema AB Solna, Sweden. Presumably these were used for display or demonstration.
