DescriptionNatural electrical impulses cause the heart to beat. When these impulses are distrubed medical intervention is necessary. A Pacemaker is a name for a device that stimulates the heart. The device consists of a pulse generator which is implated in the chest and one or two pacing leads tipped by electrodes which are inserted into the heart to stimulate the contraction of the heart muscles. The generator creates the electrical pacing signal transmitted to the heart, this is powered by a battery.
This model is made by Medtronic. Model no. 5950. The four batteries can be seen on both sides of the round device the pacing lead is not present but there is one soft rubber tube with two outlets for attaching.
