DescriptionDoctor of Dental Surgery hood presented to Professor George Beagrie (1925-20230 on 18th July 1987 when he was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Dental Surgery. As Professor Beagrie already owned a hood, he generously donated this one to the Edinburgh Dental School.
Professor Beagrie L.D.S. (R.C.S. Edinburgh,) D.D.S. (Edin.), D.D.S. hon. (Edin.) D.Sc. hon. (McGill), D, hon. (U. Montreal), F.D.S.R.C.S. (Edin. & London), F.R.C.D. (C), F.A.C.D., F.I.C.D was born in Aberdeenshire and graduated in dentistry in 1947 from the University of Edinburgh. He became Professor and Head in the department of Restorative Dentistry at the University before emigrating to Canada in 1968.
