    DescriptionNatural electrical impulses cause the heart to beat. When these impulses are distrubed medical intervention is necessary. A Pacemaker is a name for a device that stimulates the heart. The device consists of a pulse generator which is implated in the chest and one or two pacing leads tipped by electrodes which are inserted into the heart to stimulate the contraction of the heart muscles. The generator creates the electrical pacing signal transmitted to the heart, this is powered by a battery. This small metal pacemaker has an orange resin/plastic top. The device has the following engraved on the front Siemens Multi-Programmable Pulse Generator DIALOGUE 748. Serial nos. S 7448 52229. The reverse reads: NOT FOR IMPLANTATION, Siemens-Elema AB Solna, Sweden. Presumably this device was used for display or demonstration.
