1851, March 11. WARRANT for a Charter to be granted by Queen Victoria in favour of the College, authorising it to be known as the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, severing all its links with the Town Council, with the result that Fellows no longer need to be Burgesses of the City of Edinburgh. The rights and privileges granted by previous sovereigns are upheld. The basic Laws of the College are outlined. Typescript transcription, dated 1936
